ADHD testing and treatment: what it costs and why it is required. Here are three things to know. If you have not had a formal ADHD evaluation or testing before, testing is required before treatment can begin. Many conditions, including anxiety, depression, poor sleep, thyroid problems and substance use, can look like ADHD. If you were tested before, your provider reviews those records at your first visit. Testing usually follows an initial evaluation with one of our providers. It is an objective, FDA-cleared, web-based assessment of attention, activity and impulsivity, done on your own computer and on your own time. The results support an accurate diagnosis, but on their own they are not enough to diagnose ADHD. ADHD testing is self-pay and is not covered by insurance. Your initial evaluation and follow-up visits may be billed to your insurance according to your plan benefits. When medication is clinically appropriate, our providers prescribe long-acting stimulants only, and non-stimulant options are also available. Read the full article at hopeintegrativemed.com. Frequently Asked Questions
Many conditions, including anxiety, depression, poor sleep, thyroid problems and substance use, can look like ADHD. Testing supports a thorough diagnosis rather than prescribing medication based on symptoms alone.
The three core symptoms of ADHD. Inattention shows up in how quickly and accurately you respond during an on-screen task, the platform tracks motor activity during the task, and incorrect response patterns show how impulsive responses may affect your performance.
Not by itself. The testing can help inform the ADHD subtype but cannot establish it alone. High scores in all three areas do not automatically mean combined-type ADHD, and normal activity during testing does not rule ADHD out.
