What Medication Management Involves
Your first appointment is a comprehensive evaluation, typically 45 to 60 minutes. Your provider reviews your current diagnosis, medication history, prior responses to treatments, and current functioning. Together you discuss a medication plan — whether continuing an existing medication, adjusting a dose, switching to a different medication, or starting a new treatment.
Follow-up appointments are shorter — typically 20 to 30 minutes — and focus on monitoring your response, managing any side effects, and adjusting the plan as needed.
Transferring Care to Hope Integrative Medicine
We also coordinate with your primary care provider, therapist, or other treating clinicians when appropriate and with your written permission.
Prescriptions and Safety
Telehealth visits are evaluation and management visits. A prescription can be part of your treatment when your provider, using professional judgment and deciding together with you after weighing the risks and benefits, finds it medically necessary. Whether you are seen in person in West Ashley or by telehealth, prescriptions are sent electronically to your pharmacy.
Hope Integrative Medicine is not an emergency service. In a crisis, call or text 988; for a medical emergency or overdose, call 911.
