Mental Health Care Questions and Answers for South Carolina
Answers to common questions about telehealth visits, insurance and treatment for adults across South Carolina.
Prescriptions and Safety
Telehealth visits are evaluation and management visits. A prescription can be part of your treatment when your provider, using professional judgment and deciding together with you after weighing the risks and benefits, finds it medically necessary. Whether you are seen in person in West Ashley or by telehealth, prescriptions are sent electronically to your pharmacy.
Hope Integrative Medicine is not an emergency service. In a crisis, call or text 988; for a medical emergency or overdose, call 911.

Non-stimulant ADHD medications can be prescribed via telehealth. When a stimulant is appropriate after a full evaluation, including ADHD testing if you have not had a formal evaluation before, we prescribe long-acting stimulants only; we do not prescribe immediate-release stimulants. Stimulants are federally controlled substances subject to specific DEA protocols.
